Vauxhall Corsa: windscreen comments, then oil leaks
Windscreen comments appeared on 28.1% of 27,066 Vauxhall Corsas aged 3–5 and under 60,000 miles, against 12.8% of 955,239 other vehicles in that slice. 47.9% of the Corsa comments were failures, so the split is close to even. This is not an advisory-only story, and it is not a failure rate of 28.1%.
The age-standardised pass rate is 73.8% on 28,700 vehicles, against 78.5% for all tests. That gap is context. The windscreen line is the finding that shows up while the car is still young and relatively low-mileage, which is when a buyer is least likely to expect a glass comment.

Later on, the comments change job
At ages 9–11 and 60,000–119,999 miles, coil-spring comments appeared on 26.2% of 14,806 Corsas, against 12.2%. 53.2% of those comments were failures. Shock-absorber comments in the same slice were on 25.4% of the same 14,806 cars, against 9.9%, and only 19.8% were failures. Same cars, two suspension comments, two different relationships to a fail.
Oil leaks are the clearest split of all. At ages 12–14 and 60,000–119,999 miles, 32.0% of 10,609 Corsas had an oil-leak comment, against 11.8%. 165 of 6,881 comments were failures: 2.4%. The comment is common. The failure is rare. An oil-leak advisory on a 12-year-old Corsa is, in this dataset, the usual form of that comment.
