VCheck, operated by Vcheck Ltd, sells UK vehicle history reports and puts salvage-auction history and an ex-taxi search at the centre of its homepage.
After you search a registration, VCheck’s official product page offers three paid reports: Initial £2.99, Basic £4.99 and Full Check £9.99. It recommends the Full Check as the most comprehensive option.
VehicleScore starts with a free dashboard, then one Hidden History report. This page compares VehicleScore with VCheck’s Full Check, because that is the product VCheck describes as the most comprehensive.
What you get with VehicleScore
Every registration check opens a free report with a VehicleScore out of 999, MOT history, tax or SORN, an MOT mileage timeline and vehicle details.
Hidden History is the paid upgrade. It can add outstanding finance, stolen markers, write-off category, and salvage auction records with images where we hold them — so you see the lot photos, not only a yes/no flag.

What VCheck offers
- Three paid report tiers on the official search page: Initial £2.99, Basic £4.99 and Full Check £9.99, including VAT.
- A Full Check that official copy calls the most comprehensive report.
- Salvage auction history on the Full Check, with an official note that coverage is mostly from 2015 and is not 100% because not every auction supplies data.
- An ex-taxi search, which the homepage treats as a main reason to use VCheck.
- Bundles from £6.00 (Full), £3.00 (Basic) and £1.60 (Initial) including VAT, according to the official bundles page.
- Free reports after you create an account. The register page says you can run as many free reports as you like. Official homepage copy does not list what those free reports contain, so this page does not invent that list.
Why consider VehicleScore?
A scored report plus salvage images
VehicleScore starts with a free /999 score, then Hidden History can add salvage auction records and lot images where we hold them. VCheck’s homepage is built around salvage-auction history and an ex-taxi search.
Three paid VCheck tiers vs one Hidden History report
VCheck sells Initial, Basic and Full. This table uses the Full Check at £9.99 as the like-for-like paid product. VehicleScore’s paid history product is Hidden History at £12.95.
Free check, different rules
VehicleScore’s free check does not need an account. VCheck offers free reports after registration. Until VCheck publishes a clear free-report contents list, we do not treat that free report as equivalent to VehicleScore’s dashboard.
Free VehicleScore vs Hidden History
Enter a UK registration to open the free dashboard. You see MOT history, tax or SORN, the MOT mileage timeline, vehicle details and a VehicleScore out of 999.
Hidden History is the paid report. Depending on the records held for that registration, it can include outstanding finance, stolen markers, insurance write-off category, salvage auction history and images, VIN confirmation, colour and plate changes, previous keeper count, import or export flags, and a market valuation.
Service History is a separate product, currently £8.95. It is not included in Hidden History. See the service history check.
What the VehicleScore /999 means
The free score is VehicleScore’s own rating. It is not an MOT result and it is not a finance clearance. Use it to compare similar cars, then open Hidden History when you are close to buying.
Check more than one car
If you are viewing several cars, consumer Hidden History packs are currently 2 checks for £16.95, 3 checks for £19.95, 5 checks for £25.95. Pack credits currently expire after 12 months.
Important vehicle checks
A history report is only useful if you know what each result means. These VehicleScore guides stay on our own product pages:
