What Car Analytics shows
Enter a registration above. You get the same free VehicleScore report as the main check: the recorded data for that car, not a garage inspection.
The report includes:
- A VehicleScore out of 999.
- Make, model, year, colour and fuel type.
- MOT status, the expiry date from the latest pass, and the test history: pass or fail, advisories, and mileage at each test.
- Tax status (taxed, untaxed or SORN) and a due date when we hold one.
- Average miles per year, when the MOT mileages allow it.
- ULEZ status, when we hold an emissions record for the car.
MOT and tax come from the DVLA and DVSA lookup for that registration. A newer car may have no MOT yet. If a field is missing, it is left blank.
What the numbers mean
MOT "Valid" means the latest pass has not expired. "Taxed" means the tax record says it is taxed. SORN means the keeper has declared it off the road. An advisory is a tester's note, not a fail. Read a repeated advisory, such as a tyre or a bush, as something already flagged, not as proof the part has been replaced.
The VehicleScore pulls those records into one number out of 999. Use it to compare two cars quickly. It is not a condition report, and a high score does not mean the car has been inspected.
Mileage on the report is the reading stored against each MOT. Put the readings in date order. A drop, or a jump that does not fit the time between tests, is something to ask about. The list does not prove the odometer is correct. There is a separate mileage check if you want that view on its own, and an MOT history check if you only want the tests.
What is not in this report
The free report does not include outstanding finance, a stolen marker, a write-off category, salvage auction records, or a dealer service history. Finance, stolen, write-off and salvage records are in Hidden History, which is paid. An MOT fail is not the same as an insurance accident record. Tax status is whether the car is taxed, not the tax band or the annual rate.
